Enochian Magic: More Hidden Symbologies In Mediums?

It has come to my attention while discerning symbolisms hidden in our mediums such as movies and television, advertisements and comic books, among a few, that although I have centered this blog thusly around the fact they could possibly be a form or "Illuminati mind control", there also may be another hidden level of meaning to them. While relaxing last "weak-end" after my joyous "weak" of forced slavery and indentured servitude to the more cleverly disguised "Pharaohs", I spotted a documentary I had not seen--"Riddles In Stone: The Secret Architecture of Washington D.C.". I decided rather than to "dull my senses" with colorful mayhem of nonsensical violence or rude humor, that I would expand my knowledge volume on "thine enemy"...for it's only when you know thine enemy can you protect yourself. The film turned out to be not what I expected thusly from the title. Though, they began with speculation about whether or not the U.S. capitol was structured around "occult symbolism", it turned into a banter of Masons v.s. anti-Masons and then a religious twaddle that precluded what it should have "enlightened" the viewer with---structures of D.C. and their hidden meanings. I was to say a tad disappointed. BUT--one of the Anti-Masons did make a statement that there were "7 levels of symbolic interpretations and meanings" to which my head cocked to one side and an eyebrow raised. Hmmm.

A venerable light blinked on inside my mind, could it be there is more to it than just the Illuminati form of Mind Control I had been previously spotting? Most of us in the blog-sphere that have investigated the symbol side of advertisements, movies, t.v., etc. can readily identify the symbols to the "secret societies" that are running, ahem ruining, society as it is. Perhaps digging more into their "occult practices" can identify the 'weapons of the enemy' thusly removing their 'spell like power' they have cast upon the M-asses. Perhaps. So in my digging, where I have had my head buried, either in a book of research or under my vehicle trying to get that damn hunk of metal running, I run across what is called "Enochian magic". I had previously run across references to "the Book of Enoch" multiple times before, such as in William Henry's The Crystal Halls of Christ's Court, but disregarded it as books not included in the Bible. How wrong I was! Bits and pieces of the Book of Enoch sure are hidden in plain sight in the Bible for starters, check out Revelations and see for yourself.

If you believe the legends, Enochian magic was originally delivered to Man by Enoch, the mysterious prophet of Genesis. The Enochian "calls" are reputed to be in the language of the Angels, of which Hebrew is said to be but a faint echo. The Enochian tablets, according to the story, are the talismans from which all other magical sigils are descended. Small wonder Enochian magic is reputed to be the most powerful [and dangerous branch of the occult!].
Enochian magic originated, of course, with a series of crystal- gazing experiments that Dr. John Dee and Edward Kelley conducted in the late sixteenth century. The foremost scholar of his era, Dee turned away from mundane knowledge to seek what he called "radical truth." Dee believed that Enoch had received such truths from conversations with the angels. Dee theorized that he could use crystal gazing to reestablish communication with Enoch's angels, thus restoring the fountainhead of supernatural knowledge.

Whether or not Dee succeeded is open to question. Dee certainly believed that he had tapped into angelic power, but there is little evidence that the knowledge did him much good. Nevertheless, by the time he died, his experiments were widely enough known to lend an aura of mystery and power to his name. The language was given on a large tablet of 49 one-inch squares which constituted the four [4] Watchtower Tablets and the Tablet ofUnion. The 48 Enochian Calls were also derived by the use of these large tablets. Dee and Kelley had at their disposal a highly sophisticated system of magic which apparently neither of them comprehended. It remained just a collection of channeled messages in an archaic language, recorded in a series of obscure manuscripts, until MacGregor Mathers discovered them in the British Museum. He introduced Enochian Magic into the Golden Dawn System, and for the first time it became something other than theory and speculation. This vast collection of material became the crown jewel of the Order's work.

The vast amount of material collected by Dee and Kelley indicates that they transcribed an entirely new language with its own grammar and syntax. Occultists have called this language "Enochian" because the dictating angel, Ave, was said to have originally given the tablets to Enoch.

It is both a system of theurgy [a method for summoning and commanding angelic beings] and goety [a method for summoning and commanding demons]. Although the angels gave Dee strict instructions that he should never use the magic for evoking evil spirits, the names of evil spirits are provided in Enochian magic nonetheless, along with techniques for summoning them. Enochian magic may have a deeper and darker purpose that was never revealed by the angels to Dee. It could possibly have served as a magical trigger for the chaotic transition--generally referred to as the apocalypse--between the present aeon and the next.

Enochian magic falls into two parts. The structure was not intentional, but an accident of fate perhaps. Originally, the angels transmitted the system in bits and pieces that were not in any particular logically order, they were scrambled together. This may have been the result of the angels difficulties in dealing with "linear time" or it may have been a deliberate way of concealing the magic from casual eyes. Dee was able to sort out some of the confusion in his manuscripts, but after his death his Enochian papers became split into two collections.

These papers that concerned the latter half of Enochian magic were published around 1659 by Meric Casaubon. This in the material that is more popularly known as Enochian magic. It contains the 4 Watchtowers, the Enochian Keys or Calls, and the vocabulary of the Enochian language. It was this 2nd half of the system that found its way in to the magic of the Victorian occult society known as the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Through the Golden Dawn's teachings, Enochian magic has spread widely in the English speaking occult community over the last century. Coincidentally, The Order of the Golden Dawn is where Aleister Crowley began his studies of Enochian magic. Crowley is the most famous magus of the 20th century. When he was a young child, his mother [a member of the fanatical Plymouth Brethren sect] referred to him as the Beast. His young mind seized on this label as a revelation. In his autobiography he writes: "But my mother believed that I was actually Anti-christ of the Apocalypse..." [and above on the same page] " I have never lost sight of the fact that I was in some sense or other the Beast 666." Here, the Beast and Antichrist are confused, but the confusion was his mother's, not Crowley's, who always understood himself to be merely the herald of the Antichrist.

Crowley eagerly devoured Golden Dawn magic. He was strongly drawn to the magic of the dark side -- the goetia. His mentor in the Golden Dawn, Allan Bennett, warned him against this line of study, but Crowley paid no heed. This attraction to evil, coupled with his Bohemian habits, made him unpopular among the conservative leaders of the Order. Eventually, Crowley and the Golden Dawn parted company, but he continued to use the Golden Dawn teachings in the remainder of his life. More than with any other aspect of Golden Dawn magic, he was fascinated with the Enochian language and the Keys to the Watchtowers. Crowley considered himself a reincarnation of Edward Kelley, and to some extent he shared Kelley's scrying ability.
While wandering through Algeria in 1909, Crowley invoked the Enochian Aethers in reverse order from the 28th to the 1st, using the 19th Key for all of them. They Key for all 30 of the Aethers is the same save for the name of the Aether involved. Thus, the last 30 Keys are really a single Key that is applied to the 30 Aethers. Previously, while visiting Mexico in 1900, he had invoked the 13th and 29th Aethers, so he was merely taking up where he had left off.
Crowley's method of working was similar in some respects to that of Dee and Kelley. He would find a private place where he could be alone with his disciple, Victor Neuberg. Then he would recite the 19th Key with the name of the Aether he sought to invoke inserted int the text at the proper place. It is not clear however whether he used the English or the Enochian version of the Key. In his Confessions, he speaks of "changing two names" to suit the Key to each Aether. In the English version, two words must be changed for each Aether, but in the Enochian version, only one word. So perhaps Crowley invoked the Aethers using the English version of the 19th Key.

After sensing the presence of the angel of that Aether, he gazed into a large topaz that was set in a decorated wooden cross. Whatever he saw in the stone, or experienced more directly, he described. Neuberg sat beside him and wrote his words down in a notebook, just as Dee had recorded the words of Kelley more than 3 centuries earlier. This record formed the work known as the Vision and the Voice. Crowley states in his autobiography, "we walked steadilty to Bou Saada, invoking the Aethyrs one by one, at convenient times and places, or when the spirit moved me. As a rule, we did one Aethyr every day." He does not seem to have employed the first 18 Keys while invoking the Aethers. He understood the 18 preliminary Keys in teh way they had been taught him by the Golden Dawn. Describing them, he says that the first two keys relate to the quintessence, or elemental Spirit, while the next 16 relate to the 4 elements in subdivisions of 4. This is the Golden Dawn teaching. Crowley chose to consider the Aethers in the first, most mystical sense. He describes the Wachtowers as "composing a cube of infinite magnitude." This is above the usual understanding. I'll touch more on Crowley's involvement with Enochian magic in a 2nd post.


The Enochian Alphabet

The Enochian Alphabet is written from left to right and has twenty-one [21] letters, rather than the twenty-two [22] of Hebrew. This allows for the letters to be divided into 3 sets or groups of 7. Three is the number of the Holy Trinity it its numerous forms in various religions. Seven is the number of the traditional planets of astrology [which include the Sun and the Moon]. These are the seven "lights" that rule the twelve [12] names of God that rule the ninety-one [91] geographical spirits on the Great Table of the Watchtowers.


The Germanic rune alphabet known as "the futhark" is divided into 3 families or clans of eight runes each. This threefold division is so ancient, it may be coeval with the invention of runes. Each clan, or aetz, takes its name from the first rune in the clan, which is regarded as its patriarch. The structure of the Enochian alphabet appears to be very similar, except that each family of Enochian letters contains seven members. The Enochian alphabet has a threefold division because the names of the letter were revealed to Kelley in three groups of seven.

Donald Laycock points out that all the letters in the Enochian names for the Enochian letters total sixty-four [64], a number that may have significance as a magic square. Enochian appears to have an alphanumeric cipher system rather than a normally evolved language. It is possible that the names for the letters were generated by letter squares similar to those so common throughout Enochian magic, although no one has proposed how this may have been accomplished.

Enochian Numerology

What is uncertain is the numerical value of each letter. Robert Turner suggest that the initial letter Pa [b] has a value of seven [7], because seven is the most important number in the early Enochian communications, and Pa is the most common and most important letter. Why else would it be set in the corners of the Table of Practice, except to stand for the sevenfold magic of the angelic heptarch? Why else would it head the names of 49 good angels of the heptarch?
One may speculate that the reason the Enochian alphabet is headed by the letter B is because this is the first letter in the first word of the first book of the Bible. The Hebrew Genesis beings with the word "BeReshit", which translates "In the beginning." IF the first Enochian letter does have the value of seven [7], the values of the remaining letters do not seem to follow any logical order, as do the letters of Hebrew. A system of numerical values can be easily imposed on the Enochian alphabet, but this would not be a natural part of Enochian magic.
Laycock postulated the letters that stand for the numbers from one to nine, based on their occurence in the Enochian Keys. When we add in Turner's B, we get this list:

L = 1 S = 4 B = 7
V = 2 O = 5 P = 8
D = 3 N = 6 M = 9

It is simple to produce higher numbers by combining these letter if some positioning system is used to indicate the powers of ten [10], but this is not the system employed by the Enochian angels. For example, the number 12 is not, as we might expect, LV--it is OS. The number 33 is PD. The number 456 is CLA. No one has yet been able to make sense of this strange numeration. Therefore, numbers can be used in Enochian magic where these have previously been generated by the angels, but it is recommended not to generate new numbers since it is impossible to be certain of their meaning.


The Angelic Heptarchy

A heptarchy is a government of seven [7] rulers. The word had particular meaning for Dee as an Englishman and historian. Anglo-Saxon England was composed of seven kingdoms between A.D. 449 and 828. This group of seven kingdoms was called the Heptarchy. Seven has great occult significance because there are seven wandering bodies that rule the heavens in ancient astrology. The seven astrological planets also rule the Earth through the seven days of the week.
The divine authority of the seven planets is recognzied in Christian mythology. They are the seven stars held in the right hand of Christ [Revelation 1:16] and the seven lamps of fire that burn before the throne of God, who are also called the seven Spirits of God [Revelation 4:5] Each planet is thus a ruling angel. The imagery in Revelation plays a large role in the Enochian teachings. For further investigative reading/research read Tetragrammaton by Donal Tyson.

In the Enochian heptarchy, the seven [7] spheres of the planets are ruled by the seven [7] angelic Kinds. Each King has a Prince, who is the active power of the King. Under each Prince are five [5] Nobles. The names of these forty-nin angels being with the letter B, which may represent the number seven [7]. The names are revealed to Kelley letter by letter upon a complex table in the shape of a cross with seven separate parts.
Kelley received this sevenfold cross on April 29th, 1582. Seven angels approached holding seven square tables. Each square table was composed of 49 cells, and each cell had a letter and a number written in it. The ordering of these letters and numbers appears to be random. The first table was filled with the letter B. The angels used this as the center of the cross, and joined the other six tables to its sides. Moving around the central table clockwise, tables two and three were compressed together and joined to the top, table four was joined to the right, tables five and six were compressed and attached to the bottom, and table seven was joined to the left edge of the central table.

It was then a simple matter to extract the names for the 49 good angels of the planets. Starting with the cell in the central table of the cross that contained B1, Dee looked to the cell i the second table that also contained the number 1, and found there the letter A. In the third table of the cross, the cell with the number one contained the letter L. In the fourth table the cell with the number one contained the letter I. In the fifth, the letter G. In the sixth, the letter O. IN the seventh, the letter N. These seven letters composed the name of the first of the heptarchial Kings, BALIGON.

In this way, Dee extracted in order the 49 angels, which he arranged in the form of a ring that was divided into seven parts, each containing seven names. These parts of the ring were associated with the seven planets in an apparently random order. Dee called this table the Tabula Angelorum Bonorum 49.


The Ministers Of The Princes

Each prince also has a hierarchy of 42 Ministers who rule the hours of the day in 6 groups of 7 Ministers, each group ruling 4 hours of the 24. Every one of these 42 Ministers is represented by a single letter, so that each of the 6 groups collectively has a single name that is composed of 7 letters. The names of the 42 Ministers under each Prince are "extracted by a laboriously complex method from the Table of the 49 Good Angels". IN this way they are composed of the names of the angels. Fortunately, it is not necessary to know this method to use the Ministers.
The angels informed Dee that the King of each planet and his subordinate Prince rule the entire day associated with the Planet of the King. Curiously, the serving Prince of each King is associated with a different planet on the Tabula Angelorum Bonorum. The 6 ranks of 7 Ministers rule 4 hour periods in succession, beginning at midnight. To take the Ministers of the Prince Blisdon [Jupiter] who serves King Bnaspol [Mercury], the rule of Wednesday, as an example:

The individual letters that represent the Ministers were each expanded into a 7-letter name by a simple process of permutation. This technique is common throughout Enochian magic. The letter of each Minister is moved to the front of its rank, and the remaining 6 letters written behind it. To take as an example the Ministers of Prince Blisdon, shown above:

Seven and Twenty-Four

It should be noted that each group of the 7 Ministers rules 240 minutes. These numbers have significance with respect to the throne of God described in Revelation 4:4-5:

...and round about the throne were four and twenty seats; and upon the seats
I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their
heads crowns of gold.
And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices;
and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne,
which are the seen Spirits of God.

The 24 Elders rule over time: specifically the 12 hours of the day and the 12 hours of the night. They are measured or governed, by the seven lamps before the throne, which are the seven planets. In the heavens, the planets govern the time divisions of the 12 houses by moving through them. On Earth, the planets are represented by the days of the week, and in magic are assigned the 24 hours of the day to rule in a week long cycle! The planets repeat themselves in 24 sets of 7 over the 168 hours of the week. The assignment of the 42 Ministers to the hours in groups of 7, each of which rules 240 minutes, is another expression of this ancient temporal relationship between 24 and 7.

Did you digest all of that? Could this form of powerful ancient magic be permeated throughout our Western society in the forms of symbols, sigils, and ancient spells? In a society where 'magic' is our dominant form of entertainment/entrainment in mass venues of video games, movies, television shows, novels, role playing games [RPGs], etc. it may be well hidden in multiple layered forms, thusly complexing our "swayed" thought-forms. One must ask the question, "Are we, society, under a powerful magic spell?" Maybe. With Chaos magic abound via the internet and a growing interest in it, one could surmise that 'the dark areas of the psyche' are being swayed into rituals far beyond our comprehension. Remember that wise old saying "your meddling with powers you cannot possibly comprehend". There just might be a bit of common sense in that statement, even if it was used many times by occult Hollywood!

I also introduce the idea that this methodology of magic has no proof that it was given by "benevolent angels", that within Dee and Kelley's works the so called "angels" played many games with them, which reminds me of how our "elites" or secret societies enjoy playing "games" with us, coincidence? Perhaps. I challenge my readers or fellow investigative bloggers to find this additional layer of symbols and sigils within our mediums, and to reveal them to the public as to remove/lessen their power over our minds.
